ARC

Due to privacy issues we can not show you pictures of the ARC students creating their water feature. Manatee Glens ARC was a live in facility for troubled and at risk teens. Originally the pond was going to be raised with flagstone mortared to the face of the pond. The students wanted to make it a bit more personal and decided to add messages, signatures and dates to the stucco face. They took pride in what they were creating together and one student started a weekly column in their school newspaper about the pond. In the first article she shared how the project made her feel. This is the only fish pond to date that we have created in a schoolyard habitat. The students continued to care for the Goldfish and pond plants until the facility was closed.
